Have you ever gotten jealous of your cat liking other people more than you? Well, one man and his wife had an argument with their neighbor after their cat started spending too much time in his yard.

This video has it all. An old curmudgeon and his wife. A well-liked neighbor with an Among Us tattoo. And a cat named Mercury, who doesn’t speak English.

The video centers on a man being berated by his neighbors for not shooing away his cat Mercury. Apparently, Mercury is an outdoor cat who loves to hang out in his neighbor’s yard, much to the displeasure of its owner. And the number of meme-able quotes from this video is off the charts.

“She’s a cat she doesn't speak English,” the filmer remarks to the couple. “...Hand signals don’t mean anything it’s a cat, dude.”

The old curmudgeon then decides to start calling the filmer a “cat pervert,” and accuses him of “harboring his cat,” a serious enough offense that warrants a call to the police.

“I think that the couple is in the right because of this,” tweets @lunch_enjoyer, pointing out that the accused “cat pervert” has a red “Among Us” tattoo.

It seems that the owners are unhappy that their cat likes other people. And they should be scared. One popular TikTok theory called the “cat distribution system” states that you don’t choose to have a cat, the cat chooses you and ingratiates itself into your home.

Imagine if the neighbors lived next to Shane Dawson. Then they’d have real problems.
